What is Soft Light Treatment?

Standard laser hair removal works by targeting melanin (pigment) in the hair shaft. This means it is most effective on dark, coarse hair. Fine, blonde, grey, or light-coloured hair contains insufficient melanin for standard LHR to target effectively. Soft Light uses a lower-fluence laser protocol that gently heats and damages fine hair follicles without requiring high melanin concentration — progressively lightening and reducing unwanted fine hair.

Soft Light is often combined with standard LHR on the same treatment day — targeting coarse dark hair with LHR and fine lighter hair with Soft Light simultaneously. Our Full Body with Soft Light (150 min) package includes both technologies in one comprehensive session.

More sessions are typically required than standard LHR — usually 8–12 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Because fine hair has less melanin to target, the treatment works more gradually.

Soft Light achieves progressive lightening and reduction — most patients see 60–80% improvement in hair visibility. Complete removal of very fine vellus hair is difficult with any laser technology. Your specialist will set realistic expectations during consultation.
